Michael Ryan

Currently responsible for the Skills agenda in the West Midlands in Creative Industries in relation to the remit of the Learning and Skills Council and Advantage West Midlands Image Screen and Sound Cluster Strategy. Main objectives include the raising of the profile of the Creative Industries in regional economic growth and to address the gaps between the supply and demand of skills in this diverse sector.

Also to facilitate the innovative delivery of skills through the use of creativity and media to all sectors and learner groups.

Past roles have included business analysis and advisory work to various sectors, mainly in ICT and the service industries, both in London and the West Midlands.

Private sector experience includes operations management of small businesses and entertainment venues, and ICT and finance roles in large corporations.

Job roles have been quite varied, from wine buyer to film extra!

Academic background includes a BA in Business Management, a BSc in ICT and currently finishing a MSc in Management Psychology.
