Anne von Streit  is a researcher and lecturer at the Department of Geography, based in the social- and economic geography group at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University of Munich since 2001. Her main research interests include urban geography, the geography of labour markets and the geography of the new media. She is also interested in the connections between economic restructuring, labour market change and gender divisions in Germany.

Her Ph.D is on flexible work in the new media sector of Munich and the shifting boundaries of life and work in the everyday life of new media workers.

She was involved in a project for the German Federal Ministry of Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth which was concerned with the regional opportunities and resources to enhance the expansion of childcare facilities in Germany. Furthermore, she has worked in two projects very closely related to the research questions of ACRE: in 2005 she took part in a study of Munich as a “City of Knowledge” in which the knowledge intensive and creative sectors of Munich were analysed. And currently she is working in a project with Sabine Hafner which is concerned with the question if the concept of Florida’s creative class can be used for European cities and especially for Munich. Both projects are financed by the local government of Munich.
