Brendan is a Lecturer in the School of Geography, Planning and Environmental Economics at University College Dublin. He was previously Lecturer in Urban Economics and Head of strategic research at the Faculty of the Built Environment Dublin Institute of Technology and consultant to public and private clients over the period 1997-2005. Previous experience includes academic and professional practice as a Chartered Surveyor in the areas of property appraisal, planning and development. Dr. Williams initially studied Environmental Economics at Dublin Institute of Technology and subsequently obtained MA and PhD at University of Dublin, Trinity College. His doctoral research involved investigation of the impacts of fiscal incentives on Urban Regeneration in Dublin (examined by Univ. of Cambridge U.K.). Brendan is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, Chair 2003-2005 of the Planning and Development Division of The Society of Chartered Surveyors in Ireland and member of the Irish Auctioneers and Valuers institute.
