Francesca Zajczyk is a full professor of Urban Sociology. She is a member of the Council of MUP (with Enzo Mingione and Yuri Kazepov) and a member of the National Commission combating Social Exclusion. She is also a member of the Scientific Committee of the inter-university centre STUD (Social Time and Urban Development). Zajczyk has significant experience in social policies and urban transformations from a number of sociological perspectives and with a particular focus on the spatial distribution of urban phenomena. Her research activities are mostly focused on social exclusion, urban policies and their effects, social indicators and urban trends, gender and housing exclusion, housing for low-income groups, inequality and social capital. She has been involved in several international projects, including: COST-civitas (with Guido Martinotti), Observatoire prospectif des marchés européens: evolutions socials, modes de vie, consummations, distribution (Mendras), Council of Europe (Guidelines on using indicators for social cohesion), Foundation of Dublin, Eurexter, Network MigCities (TSER, 4th-Framework). Since April 2006 she has became Milan Coucilor.
