Hélène Martin-Brelot is a research fellow at the Interdisciplinary Centre for Urban Studies (LISST-Cieu), University of Toulouse since September 2007. Her PhD in geography (January 2006) dealt with Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) and their potential role in a sustainable development strategy. As an experiment she created 22 monthly magazines of 20 minutes (called Rhizome) about environment concerns for a local TV near Versailles.
After she completed her doctoral degree at the École Normale Supérieure of Lyon, she went on with two six-months contracts at the CNRS (Géographie-Cités, Paris). Thus she first contributed to a litterature review on scientific partnerships in the Parisian region and she recently compared the spatial dynamics of Île-de-France, London, Berlin and Luxemburg regarding the aim of sustainable development. Hélène Martin-Brelot is also involved in the works of the Information society commission of the Comité National Français de Géographie (for details see http://www.cnfg-si.org).
