Graduated in Geography, Sociology and Business Administration at the University of Leipzig. Since November 2008, he is working on his PhD project in the international PhD programme 'URBEUR - Urban and local European studies' at the University of Milan-Bicocca. Robert Nadler researches about aspects of urban and regional development. He assisted in several research projects in different institutions. First working on topics like urbanism, regional planning and east german transition in the Büro für urbane Projekte Leipzig, a small architecture bureau, he subsequently took part in research about lobbying of environmental NGOs at the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research (UFZ), Leipzig. His next stations have been the Leibniz Institute of Ecological and Regional Development (IOER), Dresden, and the Leibniz Institute for Economic Research (IWH), Halle, where he assisted in a research project on demographical change and the resulting urban infrastructure costs development. Before joining the Leipzig ACRE team he wrote his Diploma thesis dealing with the economic development strategies and policies of the City of Leipzig at the BBVL Leipzig, a business consultancy company. There he worked simultaneously on a study about sector specific clustering processes in the Leipzig metropolitan region.
